Title of the Talk:
Building Accessible UI Applications with AI: Designing for Everyone
Abstract of the Talk:
Making websites and applications accessible is no longer a choice it is essential to create experiences that everyone can use, including people with visual, auditory, cognitive or motor disabilities. Global standards like the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Section 508 define the requirements, but meeting them can be challenging. Traditional accessibility testing often relies on manual reviews and rule based tools, which can miss context-specific problems and struggle to keep up with fast paced development cycles.
This session will explore how to build inclusive web and mobile applications by combining proven accessibility practices with the power of AI. We will cover design and development techniques like keyboard navigation, proper use of ARIA roles, screen reader compatibility, optimized color contrast and multimedia accessibility. On the AI side, we will discuss how machine learning can automatically detect WCAG violations, generate meaningful alt text for images, add real time captions to videos and predict which accessibility gaps are most impactful for users.
By embedding accessibility and AI driven checks into your workflow, you can catch issues earlier, reduce manual effort and ensure compliance without slowing down development. Attendees will gain practical strategies for creating digital products that are inclusive, compliant and user friendly for everyone.
